Global one-stop shopping e-commerce giant Flipkart has shown interest in buying Pulses, rice, and Dalia from enterprising farmers in the country. To complete this purchase, the company has also submitted a purchase proposal of Rs 1800 crore to the Deputy Commissioner of the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Invest India). The Deputy Commissioner presided over a meeting with enterprising farmers and traders in this regard and said that emphasis is being placed on promoting mushroom production under the One District One Product Scheme of the Government of India in the Moga district. To ensure that the district growers of mung and other pulses brand their products and distribute them through the company to all corners of the world.
He said that efforts are being made to benefit the maximum number of farmers from the schemes of the government. Ishdeep Singh, a member of the core committee of Invest India, explained in detail the benefits to the farmers under this scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the farmers to submit their crop samples to the Chief Agriculture Office as soon as possible. These samples will be sent to the company by Invest India.
